If you take a look to the north or the south of the Step Pyramid you can see other pyramids dotting the landscape. In fact the whole area is an archaeological treasure trove with many ongoing excavations. The pyramids in the background of the picture on the right are the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid at Dahshur. At almost any sight in the Middle East camel rides are commonly available.
